About the Wilcox Fund

The Wilcox Fund (named for Rev. Don Wilcox) was established by The Council of Churches to help support Campus Ministry at SUNY Cortland and the work at The Interfaith Center.  Rev. Vicki Johnson serves as the Protestant Campus Minister but also oversees the programming and activities at The Interfaith Center.  Her work supports the spiritual and personal development of students at SUNY Cortland but also enhances interfaith dialogue and understanding for the entire campus and greater Cortland community.

Past events have included:

  • Cortaca Mug – 7 annual alcohol/drug-free fun events for students the weekend of the Cortland/Ithaca football game
  • Stuff that Matters – weekly free meals for students with fellowship and reflection
  • Women of Faith – panel presentation from women of various faith traditions
  • Holy Times, Holy Meals – program where small groups experienced the holy meal traditions of five different faith communities
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day interfaith dinners and discussions

The Interfaith Center also hosts:

  • PFLAG meetings
  • Jumu’ah – Friday prayers for the Muslim community
  • Interfaith or non-faith memorial services, weddings, celebrations
